Kristy
Heilenday holds a BFA in Communication Arts from the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University. Whether she is creating a pen and ink drawing or an oil painting, Heilenday focuses on merging line and color to produce artwork that is both representational and abstract.
She has participated in
various group shows both locally and internationally, and held her first solo
show in Richmond, Virginia in January 2012. Heilenday has completed numerous commissioned
works, given lectures to high school students and adult audiences as well as private art lessons in her studio at Mayo Island Studio Collective. Heilenday has been with the Visual Arts
Center of Richmond since fall 2010 and currently serves as the Event Coordinator, where she
coordinates and manages large annual art-focused fund-raisers such as the Craft + Design
Show and Collectors Night.
